Waves & Rocks Wood Carving

I carved this piece out of a block of firewood. I started with a Gransfors Bruk hatchet, then chisels, bored a hole with a drill, then more chisels. I then did some work with a Dremel and finished it out with some carving knives.

I like the imagery of waves crashing against and over rocks. I would take photos at Laguna Beach in California of little waves and foam crashing over rocks for fun. This idea was inspired by some of the moments.
